About the New Mexico State Lottery
The New Mexico lottery has been around since 1995 when it was authorized by the former governor, Gary Johnson. The lottery made over $6 million in profits in its first year. Roadrunner Cash, a nightly draw game, debuted in 1998 and remains popular to this day.
A portion of the proceeds for every ticket goes to fund programs for higher education at state colleges.
How to Claim Your Lottery Winnings in New Mexico
Prizes between $601 and $99,999 can be claimed by mail or in person at the New Mexico lottery headquarters.Â
Prizes of $100,000 and up must be claimed at the New Mexico Lottery headquarters in Albuquerque.
Tickets must be claimed within 90 days of the date of the drawing.Â
